Information for visa request

Official participation letters are being processed and will be sent by mail very soon to registered participants who have ticked the visa box.

To come in France, you may have to apply for a "short stay Schengen Visa" at the French Consulate of your country.

For a short stay (less than 90 days), A visa is waived for:

  • citizens of the European territory of the Schengen area. The Schengen area includes the territory of the following European Union countries and associated countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
  • citizens of the following countries: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Holy See, Honduras, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela
  • holders of passports from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China and the Special Administrative Region of Macao of the People’s Republic of China;
  • holders of a valid residence document in France;
  • holders of a residence document issued by a country which adheres to the Schengen Agreement;
  • holders of a travel document issued by a country which adheres to the Schengen Agreement.

What is a short stay Schengen visa ?

The short stay visa is a Schengen visa that entitles you to enter and travel in the following countries:
Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Netherland, Norway.

If you are planning a trip to Europe and are likely to visit several countries in Europe in the Schengen zone, you must submit your visa application in the Embassy or Consulate of the country in which you intend to stay the longest. In case of ambiguity on the period of stay in several countries, your visa will be issued by the Embassy or the Consulate of the country where you would be entering first.

Which documents ?

You have to request your visa from the French Consulate of your country.

You have to provide several documents, among which:

  • A passport valid for at least three months beyond the applicant’s last day of stay in the Schengen states
  • A completed and signed visa application form (to be downloaded on the French Consulate website of your country)
  • 2 photographs
  • Visa fees (see your local French Consulate)
  • An official invitation letter from the organizing committee (click here to require such a document).

Remark: The Consular Administration has full authority to request more documents than those submitted by the applicant.
